Some of the region’s top tech companies have been lifelines to local businesses, keeping their workforces online and connected, one such saviour is etac solutions based in Telford.
The ERP service provider and Microsoft certified partner provides cutting edge software to businesses to streamline the way firms manage finances, operations, sales, customer services and manufacturing.
Their range of cloud-based software has given stranded employees the ability to work remotely and access company information from anywhere. Until 2020’s pandemic, only 30% of UK workers had experienced working from home. Since the lockdown came in to force it is estimated 20 million people have relocated to home offices.
Owner Darren Beetlestone says that 2020 has been a wake up call for many businesses that now realise remote working is key to future proofing.
He comments, “As a company we were ready to work from home before the pandemic hit, so it was a very smooth transition for us, and for our clients who have enjoyed being able to access their systems from wherever they need to be.
“We have been fortunate to not have experienced too much of a disruption to our client base over the last few months. Many of the clients we work with, particularly in food and ecommerce, have continued to trade as normal, with the manufacturing clients still working on long lead time products.
“Going forward we want to help more companies put the right software in place so they have the flexibility to weather any future storms. Moving to a cloud based ERP system, such as Dynamics 365 Business Central, provides scalability and security whilst also delivering managed access to data which is vital for making decisions quickly.”
