An accountancy practice based in Shifnal that works with rural businesses and community organisations is celebrating making the regional finals for the Rural Business Awards.
Carrie Stokes Limited has been shortlisted for the Best Rural Professional Services Business for 2019/20. The winner of each category will be announced at the Regional Finals on Friday 4th October and will go forward to the National Final in February 2020.
Carrie Stokes, who set up Carrie Stokes Limited in 2006, has been in private practice for 14 years and works with many small rural enterprises and community organisations as well as larger owner managed businesses.
Carrie said: “It is fantastic to be shortlisted for this award with so many other outstanding rural businesses in Shropshire and the Midlands.
“My entry focussed on the difference that I make not just as an accountant but as a business advisor. I work with my clients to take the headache out of their business finances and tax affairs helping them make better decisions and ultimately make more money.”
Sponsored by organisations such Amazon, HSBC, Openreach and the FSB, the aim of the awards is to give recognition to businesses operating right across the rural sector.
The awards acknowledge the breadth and depth of opportunity presented by the Great British countryside and to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses, from engineering through to artisan food producers and professional services organisations.
Other local finalists in the Midlands Finals include Shropshire Farm Weddings, Tickle Tots, Fusing Ideas Glass, Ascendancy Internet Marketing, The Visual Works, Ginger & Spice Festival, the Pheasant at Neenton, West Midlands Showground, Shropshire Festivals, the Wroxeter, Wild Survivor, Apley Farm Shop, Butterbelle, Jupiter Group, Ludlow Farmshop, Organik Orangutan and Rocket Communication.
