Local hair salon Ashley Gamble in Shifnal took home the top accolade in the national Salon Business Awards, beating thousands of hair salons from across the UK.
The judges, which included award-winning hairdressers Hooker & Young and Errol Douglas MBE, were impressed with every aspect of the salon and so awarded it Ultimate Small to Medium Salon Salon status.
Staff at the salon will now benefit from a host of PR and brand building opportunities, after the exclusive Grand Final at Sea Containers London on Monday night.
Salon Business Publishing Editor Joanne Charlton: “Ashley Gamble has an outstanding business model, with a thorough education program, examples of efforts to look after staff’s wellbeing and more. They were the deserved winners of this prestigious award.”
At what is fast becoming one of the most sought after events on the hairdressing calendar, tickets to the Salon Business Awards Grand Final sold out with more than a week to go, creating an electrifying buzz for those that made it in.
Salon Business Publishing Editor Joanne Charlton welcomed the crowd as they took advantage of the views across London’s skyline from the 12th floor hub – still a sight even with grey skies.
The informal vibe, that reinvents the way awards are done, saw all 17 categories awarded in less than one hour, leaving more time for networking among salon owners, sponsors, and representatives from ivy league hair brands including TIGI, Schwarzkopf Professional and Paul Mitchell.
Speaking after the event, Joanne said: “Salon Business Awards are growing year on year and the standard of entries continues to rise, even when we think that’s not possible. The hair industry is filled with such entrepreneurial spirit, dedication and hard work, and it is events such as this that drive that message home. Well done to all who entered with a special congratulations to the winners.”
