A Shrewsbury business has been boosted by inclusion in this year’s list of ‘Superbrands’.

Hair salon Toni & Guy in Castle Street, owned by Gavin Pulham, is one of only a few Shropshire businesses to be featured in the exclusive list drawn together by experts and awarded to brands based on their quality, reliability and distinction.

“It is good news for us, for our customers and for Shrewsbury as it reinforces our commitment to quality and style,” said franchisee Gavin, who opened his salon 19 years ago and now employs over 20 people.

This is the 12th time Toni & Guy has been voted into the annual Superbrand collection and is the only hairdressing business to be included.

The lists were launched in 2001 and canvass the opinions of business professionals and consumers to produce a barometer of Britain’s brands, people and places.

Each brand featured has qualified for inclusion based on the collective opinions of an ‘expert council’ comprising opinion-formers and style-leaders and 2,000 members of the British public.

“We are really pleased to be included in the list again and to be regarded as highly as names such as Rolls Royce and British Airways, who are also known for their innovation and creativity, said Gavin.

Toni & Guy is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading hairdressing company and has been in business for 55 years.
