“We are proud to be a family business with strong family values and community roots. We have a great workforce who believe in our philosophy of ‘Excellence as Standard’ and put our customers at the heart of everything we do.”

Chris, the great, great grandson of company founder James Kent Morris, added: “To receive such recognition in our 150th anniversary year makes it extra special.”

The company employs more than 700 people across its Property, Care and Site Machinery businesses.

Morris Property, with its 225 strong property portfolio, is the county’s most active local property company and is growing its property footprint across the West Midlands, working as construction partners for both private and public across educational, medical and industrial sectors.

Its expanding Care business employs 570 nurses, care assistants and support staff across its six luxury Nursing Homes in Shropshire and Cheshire.

Morris Site Machinery trades with 25 countries worldwide and has been featured for the second year running by the Sunday Times Track 200 for Export.  It recently won ‘Export Business of the Year’ in the Black Country Chamber of Commerce awards.

The West Midlands Masters Family Business Award celebrates thriving businesses that utilise the skills of different generations and have a long-term vision for sustainable success. It was presented at a black tie dinner at Edgbaston Stadium last night.
