A team of insolvency lawyers hosted a networking event with a difference after putting on a Roman-style banquet complete with togas and tunics for more than 30 guests.
The Insolvency team at Aaron & Partners LLP organised the gathering at the Wroxeter Hotel in Shrewsbury – just a few miles from the firm’s Shropshire-based office.
Aaron & Partners also has premises in Manchester and Chester and it was the latter – a medieval city famous for its Roman heritage – that inspired the theme for the event.
It’s also not the first time the Insolvency team have taken to fancy dress in the name of networking. Last Christmas, six lawyers from the practice swapped their suits for panto costumes for a charity fundraiser as they hosted a specially tailored performance of Cinderella.
Jan Chillery, a Partner at the firm, helped organise the event. She said: “We really enjoyed bringing a range of our clients together for our Roman-themed event. It was great fun and puts an interesting twist on the traditional networking event format, which can be a bit dull and predictable.
“For us it’s all about giving people a great reason to leave the office and meet-up with other insolvency professionals in a less formal setting. Everyone on the night seemed to have a great time, so the big challenge for us now is to come up with something even better for our next event!”
