Henshalls Insurance Brokers, with offices in Newport and Shrewsbury, are the headline sponsors for this year’s Businesses for Children Awards – an initiative that recognises companies that go the extra mile to support children and young people.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 10, at The Park Inn, in Telford, when invited guests at the black-tie dinner will see 13 awards handed out.

Dave Williams, a Henshalls director, said: “We have watched the Businesses for Children Awards grow year on year since they were launched five years ago, and it’s a real honour for us to be involved once again.

“As a local company we are always keen to support organisations and initiatives that benefit the Shropshire community, but it’s important that the causes we choose reflect our strong beliefs and objectives.

“The Businesses for Children Awards is the perfect choice as it specifically shines a light on those working across the county to support the younger members of our society.”

Mr Williams said the event was an opportunity to put unsung heroes in the spotlight, and a wonderful chance to thank them for all the hard work they put in on behalf of youngsters in this area.

“In fact, we were so impressed with the Awards when we sponsored them in 2017, that we signed up immediately as headline sponsors for the 2018 event.”

Henshalls prides itself on its support for local causes – backing community projects is all part of the firm’s ethos of putting something back into the local area and it’s one of the very cornerstones of their business philosophy.

“We support more than 20 local causes across Shropshire including Lions Groups, schools, sports organisations, carnival committees, chambers of commerce, Severn Hospice, and Heart of England in Bloom projects.

“It’s important to us that we put time, effort and funds aside to help out where we can, to deliver modest but meaningful support across the wider Shropshire community.”
