Write Here, in the town’s High Street, has been transformed into one of the best independent pen shops in the country and will host the event on September 15 from 2pm until 7.30pm.

John Hall, owner of the business, which employs six people, says that he is looking forward to showing off the revamped premises, which mean that is now a leading UK retailer in this sector.

His shop was closed for more than a month this summer while a major refit was carried out and customers are now invited to a re-launch to view its fresh, modern look. The prototype of a new ‘Write Here’ specially commissioned pen will also be available to try.

John commented: “We hope as many people will come along on September 15 as possible to view our refurbishment which gives us more display space, a clean and bright new appearance and easier access for customers.

“Everyone can enjoy a glass of wine, see our new products and meet some pen experts.

“This was a substantial investment for us and is a statement of our commitment to Shrewsbury, independent retailing and, of course, to pens and writing which remain as popular as ever even in this digital age!

“The town is blessed with a huge array of brilliant small shops and we think we are now one of the smartest of them all!”
