A leading Shropshire not-for-profit care provider has further strengthened its board with two key appointments.
Coverage Care Services, which runs 14 residential and nursing homes in the county, has announced Val Beint and Debbie Price as new board directors.
Val Beint, a qualified social worker, takes up a new non-executive role. Val is a former Corporate Director for Community Health and Well Being at Shropshire Council and Assistant Director of Adult Services at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Debbie Price joined Coverage as Operations Director in 2015. She was previously Chief Officer of Shropshire Partners in Care, a not for profit organisation that represents more than 200 independent nursing, residential and domiciliary care companies, for five years. Prior to that, she was the organisation’s Care Liaison Officer for five years.
As Operations Director, Debbie is responsible for delivering the strategic vision of Coverage Care through operational activity, supporting management and implementing new ways of working.
David Coull, Chief Executive of Coverage Care, said: “Our new directors bring a wealth of experience in the care and not-for-profit sector to Coverage Care.
“They will help develop our long term strategy for the future sustainability of Coverage Care and ensure we continue to offer the highest standard of care and most innovative practice across our homes, with excellent person centred care as our key motivator.
“The care sector is, as ever, facing challenges from all sides and Val and Debbie’s experience will add an additional perspective to the board as we move forward.”
Coverage Care Services opened its newest home, and the largest Shropshire has ever seen, in November this year. Montgomery House, in Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury, is an £8m development with 90 bedrooms, on the site of the town’s former Territorial Army Centre.
