Builders and site staff working for David Wilson Homes are wearing pink hi-visibility vests and hard hats to help raise awareness of breast cancer.

Staff at the award-winning housebuilder’s Coppice Meadows development, on Coppice Green Lane in Shifnal, joined thousands of people across the country by wearing pink clothing on Friday 21 October in support of the Breast Cancer Now campaign. In addition to sporting pink hi-vis vests and hats, David Wilson Homes Mercia has donated £100 to the cause.

Every year, around £2 million is raised by wear it pink supporters, funding lifesaving research across the UK and Ireland and this year campaigners hope to raise even more through encouraging businesses, schools and individuals to wear it pink.

John Fitzgerald, Managing Director for David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We really wanted to get involved in Wear it Pink, and thought the best way to do this would be to ask site staff to wear pink hi-visibility vests on the day.

“As well as building quality homes, we want to help local communities and family charities, and I think this is a great way to do so. Not only is it a bit of fun, it also supports important, life-saving research, and we hope that we can help the Breast Cancer Campaign to raise more money than ever.”
