Around 100 people braved the bracing elements to attend an outdoor event hosted by Shukers Land Rover of Ludlow, held at Acton Scott Village Hall, near Church Stretton, at the weekend.

Customers and guests were encouraged to take part in woodland walks, a bonfire, barbeque and marshmellow toasting, together with listening to live music from acoustic duo ‘Under Cover’ and taking part in a nature photography master class by young photographer Ella Parkinson.

Samantha Haydon, of Shukers, commented: “The latest marketing theme from Land Rover is to ‘Hibernot’ rather than hibernate! … so we thought it would be a nice idea to welcome people, both customers and guests, to the countryside for a social gathering.

“We brought along a selection of Land Rover’s latest Discovery Sport and Evoque models, which people were invited to take for a short test drive around the picturesque roads of south Shropshire.

“The turnout has been excellent and although the weather was rather damp and miserable, our guests seemed to be having great fun trying to toast marshmellows on the bonfire and showing their skills at photography, while taking advantage of walking in the beautiful countryside in which we live.”
