One of the county’s leading manufacturers is celebrating success following the first anniversary of its dedicated research and development facility in Bridgnorth, which has enabled staff to enhance in-house processes and improve the company’s products.
Launched in August 2014, Bridgnorth Aluminium’s £800,000 R&D Centre has become an integral part of the business, with a team of six scientists and technicians based at the Old Worcester Road site.
“Bridgnorth Aluminium has always been focused on the needs of its customers, as well as the wider local community, and the R&D Centre has allowed us to not only improve our products, but enhance our processes too,” explained Technical Manager at Bridgnorth Aluminium, Glenn Smith.
“The past 12 months has seen staff work on a number of key projects, from analysing current products, to simulating chemical treatment processes to help commission and optimise a new waste water and chemical treatment unit on site.”
The Bridgnorth R&D Centre works alongside the company’s additional development facilities in Elval, Greece, and UACJ Corporation in Japan.
“Moving forwards, we’re investing significant time and money in training new staff to operate equipment in the R&D Centre and to manage scientific investigations,” continued Glenn. “We’re becoming more dynamic in our innovations and very much look forward to the months and years ahead.”
