Gill Morris, who owns Beadles in Shrewsbury’s Parade shopping arcade, is creating a colourful collection of items for Valentine’s Day.

“Jewellery is ideal for a Valentine’s Day gift – and what could be more perfect than something lovingly made in Shropshire?

“I love working with colours and make most of the costume jewellery sold here,” said Gillian, who started her business in the St Julian’s Craft Centre in 1982 before moving to The Parade 13 years ago.

There is an area in the shop where customers can make their own jewellery either by themselves or with help.

“I enjoy making items for events such as Valentine’s Day and I regularly design pieces for customers who are going somewhere special and want tailor-made jewellery to match a specific outfit.

“I also offer a re-threading and re-vamping service for jewellery,” said Gillian, who is currently working on a new venture which she hopes to introduce in time for Mothers Day in March.
