The two businesses joined forces to create the “Great Pie and Pint Treat” at the Christmas Festival of Lights event in November.
The Pie and Pint event was available throughout the day at The Red Lion, the town’s Brewery Tap.
For £5, people were able to purchase a steak and ale pie, chips, peas and gravy and a pint of their favourite Joule’s Ale.
For every transaction, £1 was donated to the Children’s Oncology Ward at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital, a charity very close to both business’s hearts.
Marketing controller at Joule’s Brewery, Trudie Meredith, said: “We were delighted to announce this event for the third year running, it has become a real local tradition for the town.
“Following a couple of successful years we were very keen to make this a community event that the locals look out for and look forward to every year.
“Pork Farms Palethorpes were extremely generous in donating the pies and it kept us very busy in the brewery producing a few extra barrels for the day.”
Brett Rogers, of Pork Farms Palethorpes, said: “It has been a tough time recently for all businesses so it’s great to be part of a local good news story.
“We have a great relationship with Joule’s and we work closely together on a number of important projects.
“We were happy once again to support Joule’s in raising money to support a local cause that has helped a number of our employees and their families over the years.”
Joule’s and Pork Farms Palethorpes invited a number of staff with Janice Llewellyn, Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist from the Oncology ward at the Princess Royal Hospital to the Brewery on Wednesday for a lunch and tour of the brewery, when they handed over a cheque for £200 which was raised at the Pie and Pint event.
