The new employees have now started work in various areas of the business, following a two-week induction to the organisation. The new recruits will be learning about all aspects of the Trust over the next 12 months.
One new trainee will work with the Trust’s in-house legal team and the remaining 11 will be out and about with the Trust’s trades teams, working at Retirement Living Schemes, carrying out maintenance on the Trust’s garages, working on repairs at tenants’ homes and landscape gardening. One will work with the Trust’s partner company Reviive in Trench, learning all about maintenance and recycling in retail.
As well as on the job experience, the trainees will be offered support and employment skills where needed to help them secure permanent jobs in the future.
Josh Empson, who is working with the Trust’s Commercial Services Team, said: “I’m really enjoying my time with the Trust so far, everyone has been really helpful and I know that I’m going to learn loads and get lots of experience for the future.”
