And NWS – Network with Style – is urging as many businesswomen as possible to attend their annual charity lunch and shopping event.

The organisation, which has been offering female business entrepreneurs an affordable way to network with others since 2008, will be holding the extravaganza on November 19 in Shrewsbury.

Rosie Beswick, who launched NWS with Leigh Clarke and Kelly Mansell, said: “Our extravaganza is an ideal way for businesswomen to meet with others and network.

“When we first started six years ago we realised there was a real need for an organisation where women, both those with established businesses and starting out, could share knowledge and advice.

“Since then it has proved to be an asset to businesses out there and we are constantly hearing how our members are reaping the benefits.”

She said traditional teddy bear manufacturer, Merrythought, run in Ironbridge by sisters, Hannah and Sarah Holmes, great-grand-daughters of the firm’s founder, would be guest speakers this year.

“We are delighted to welcome Merrythought Bears and I am sure our members will love to hear about the success of this historic company,” added Rosie.

“There is also some very special magical entertainment planned, as well a superb range of stalls selling a variety of items. Then of course we have a lovely lunch.”

Rosie said that this year the aim is to raise as much money as possible for the chosen charity – Home Start.

She said: “Businesses have the chance to help us with the fundraising as for just £15, they can sponsor a raffle prize and have their name on the winning envelope.

“NWS is in its sixth year and we are the most successful women’s network in the county. We have more members than any other organisation of its kind.

“We are so grateful to all our members for their contribution and hope even more women will come along to our extravaganza and realise the benefits of joining.”

Annual membership to NWS is free but there is a charge to attend meetings.

The Christmas extravaganza, which is from noon to 4.30pm at the Lord Hill Hotel in Abbey Foregate, costs £18.
