Lawley Village Day Nursery will form part of Lawley Square, located at the heart of the new Lawley Village development. Following negotiations with HSBC and the commercial developer, Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) who is delivering Lawley Square on behalf of Barratt Homes, Charles Church, David Wilson Homes, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey, construction has now commenced.
The nursery will be located next to the new Morrisons supermarket and is set to open in January 2014. The nursery will cater for babies from two months to five years and has an after school kids club.
The new nursery’s owners have benefited from a £2 million funding package from HSBC to support the project’s development in a deal led on behalf of the bank by Senior Commercial Manager John Butler. He worked with colleagues in HSBC’s Real Estate Team to come up with an innovative funding solution which enabled the freehold land on which the nursery is being constructed to be released.
The nursery will be run by Andrea Mitchell, who, with many years’ experience in child care is returning to nursery ownership after selling her previous business, Ercall Day Nursery, in 2007. She is confident the new venture will be a success since it will cater for the many families moving to the new Lawley Village development and also for parents from further afield. In addition to the usual weekday care, including a kids’ club for after school, the nursery will also open on Saturdays.
Andrea Mitchell said: “The support of HSBC has been integral to getting the new business off the ground. The bank helped us to navigate a major barrier to starting construction on the site. Lawley Village is a fantastic location because many young families will be moving to the area.
We are in a great position as we have been able to design the nursery based on our experience of owning and managing nurseries. The layout is very sympathetic to the needs of the children and ensures that each of the rooms will offer a comforting but stimulating environment where children can learn.”
