Shropshire Business is shortlisted for the 2011 Midlands Family Business Awards

Kay set up her business in 2005 to specifically help small Shropshire-based family businesses with their personnel needs and take the worry out of employing people.

As a shortlisted business, Kay now moves forward to the final stage of the Awards which will see her being interviewed by a panel of independent judges, who will decide the overall category winner and two runners-up, which will be announced at an Awards ceremony in Birmingham on 17th November.

Other professional advisers from across the Midlands also shortlisted in the category, which is sponsored by Unum, are Shakespeares Legal LLP, PKF (UK) Limited, Cooper Parry, which won the category in 2010, and Baldwins Accountancy of Tamworth.

Kay commented: “My pragmatic down-to-earth approach to personnel has always been well received by small family businesses, whose issues don’t always fit text-book style answers – it’s the first time I’ve ever entered anything like this and I’m very excited at being shortlisted.”

The 2011 Awards, hosted and underwritten by independent insurance broker and family-run business, The Wilson Organisation, attracted a record number of entries from all over the Midlands. They are a not-for-profit venture, with all proceeds going to charities supporting young enterprise and young people – The Children’s Society and The Willow Foundation.
