Fire crews tackle barn fire near Whitchurch

Firefighters from across the county were called to a barn fire near Whitchurch on Sunday afternoon.

Five fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Hodnet, Market Drayton, Shrewsbury, Telford and Whitchurch.

Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were also in attendance at the barn fire in Steel Heath.

Crews spent almost four hours at the scene and used the aerial ladder platform to assist with extinguishing the fire.
