Shropshire-based amateur theatre group Mad Cow Productions are about to create murder and mayhem as they take to stage with their latest production – The Game’s Afoot.
From the master of mayhem Ken Ludwig, The Game’s Afoot is a decadent, deadly and delicious, comedy thriller – a glittering whodunit filled with twists, turns and murderous pandemonium.
The Mad Cow herd, which is based in Shrewsbury and has members from across Shropshire and Mid Wales, will perform the show at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn from 14 to 17 October.
Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his home for a weekend of revelry but finds himself turning detective when one of his guests is murdered.
The festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors, quickly turn dangerous and it’s up to Gillette himself to track down the killer before the next victim appears. With non-stop hilarity and danger the audience will find itself swept along by this murderously funny play.
The show stars Paul Fitzgerald as William Gillette, Barbara Vesty as Martha Gillette and Lucy Billing as Aggie Wheeler – and The Game’s Afoot Company.
The herd will be performing at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn on Wednesday October 14th until Saturday October 17th at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets for the evening performances are priced £16, and £14 for the matinee.
