Deborah Mitchell, CEO of Heaven Health and Beauty Ltd, attended New College Telford in the 1990s and since then has gone on to build a global beauty empire that counts Gwyneth Paltrow, the Duchess of Cornwall and Victoria Beckham amongst its A List client base.

Deborah will share her inspirational story and present awards at the college’s annual awards ceremony, which will see around 30 recent students awarded for their exceptional achievements at The Telford Whitehouse Hotel on Thursday 18 December between 6pm and 8pm.

Deborah Mitchell, CEO at Heaven Health and Beauty, comments: “I was delighted to be asked to attend the awards for students at New College Telford. It’s a great honour to go back to where it all began for me. I’m so thankful to the college for the great foundations they gave me and I always enjoy going back there to meet and encourage current students at the College.”

Also in attendance at the event will be Steven and Lynette Williams, who will present the inaugural Georgia Williams Trust award for contribution to the community in Georgia’s memory.

The Georgia Williams Trust is a charity dedicated to providing a lasting, long-term legacy to her. With the money raised by the Trust, they celebrate Georgia’s life by enabling young people in her community to access adventure, outdoor activities and volunteering.

Sami Lister will be receiving the Georgia Williams award because of dedication to the charity and inspiring others to get involved in activities outside of the classroom. She has been a key player in organising events for the Trust including organising the Ferret Fest which was a well-attended family fun day.

The forthcoming awards ceremony is dedicated to highlighting the special achievements of students who graduated from the college this summer. Students have been nominated across categories including Outstanding Achievement, Outstanding Commitment and Overcoming Adversity to Achieve, as well as the Georgia Williams Trust award for contribution to the community.

Catherine Whitehead, Assistant Principal at New College Telford, comments: “We’re very much looking forward to the awards evening which will rightly honour those students who have gone the extra mile to excel in their chosen course of study. New College Telford provides a highly ambitious environment and it is important to us all to celebrate the achievements of students at all levels who have shown ambition and determination to succeed.”
