Shropshire businessman releases debut novel Elixir

Elixir

Local people may know Phil Cleary as the co-inventor and CEO of SmartWater, a royal award-winning forensic product, designed to track and catch criminals. But many may not know he is also an author, who has written a thought provoking new novel.

Elixir is the story of scientists Tom Shaw and Rachael Leo who discover the antidote to human ageing. As they attempt to keep the product’s ingredients to themselves, they are hunted down by those who are desperate to get their hands on the formula. As hundreds of labs around the world invest vast fortunes into research for life extension, Elixir questions the consequences of such a scientific discovery.

Elixir is the energetic and thought-provoking thriller from Phil Cleary, in which social commentary and scientific foresight combine in the pursuit of the panacea of life. For those who take Elixir they will age only one year for every five years lived, a remarkable discovery, but one which threatens civil and political unrest as governments and corporations fight to control such a profound medical advancement.

In Phil’s novel he questions the ethics of unconstrained research into extending human life, and exposes how vulnerable we are to ignorance and corruption, even in the face of benevolence and salvation!

Phil Cleary was born and raised in Liverpool. He started out as an undercover police officer in the West Midlands, gaining valuable insight and expertise into the criminal underworld and the security industry.

Now living in Shropshire, Phil serves as CEO of the multi-million pound London based international security firm, SmartWater, which he invented with his brother; he is also CEO of the US division, SmartWater CSI.

Elixir by Phil Cleary – (published by Create Space, RRP £7.99 paperback, and Kindle Direct Publishing, RRP £5.50 eBook) is available from 7 March 2014, online at retailers including Amazon.co.uk and can be ordered at all good bookstores.
