On the weekend of July 10th & 11th, Oswestry's 4th Food & Drink Festival opens it's doors right in the heart of Oswestry!

With around 50 top-class exhibitors from around Oswestry showcasing their wares, there will be plenty to see, smell, touch and taste.

Some of our popular exhibitors are back with a new twist. Tim Roberts' Su Casa are looking to provide a new take on Street Cuisine along with his popular cookery demos. Stonehouse Brewery will be showcase their latest beers along with organising the popular Local Real Ale Trail around town (don't worry, you have two days to complete it).

There'll be cakes and cup cakes galore, hand-made chocolates, homemade fudge, sauces and jellies, jams and chutneys, wines from Wem, superb liqueurs, beers and ciders; as usually the very best meats: pork, beef, lamb and game; the best of fish - sea and river; Indian food to relish, Spanish cuisine to tempt; gourmet sausage rolls; the most stunning local cheeses; top-class crepes, delicious ice creams...and those are only some of the highlights!

Some exciting new exhibitors will be making their first appearance at Oswestry such as Best Of Taste from Treflach, Condessa Liqueurs from Angelsey and Wood Cottage Berry Farm from Whitchurch. Anthony of Monkhide Wines loves the festival! He reckons, "Of the thirty or so similar events we attend each year, Oswestry is without doubt in the top three in terms of organisation, communication, 'polish', atmosphere and footfall."

It is a really enjoyable two days, and this year we'll have music, magic, face-painting and Museum on the Move (on Sunday) doing their Folklore & Fairytales exhibition!

The festival takes place along Cross St and Bailey St in the centre of Oswestry. Entrance is FREE and Oswestry would love to welcome you there!!!

Organiser, John Waine is delighted at how demand for the festival has grown over the last four years. "Oswestry had it's Market Charter over 800 years ago! Markets have always been a big part of Oswestry life and The Oswestry Food & Drink Festival is a way of helping to restore that tradition and spirit. It is the people and exhibitors in and around Oswestry that make this festival such an enjoyable and exciting occasion - and we're looking for July 2010 to be the tastiest yet! Everyone is welcome!"
