Around 20 students took part in the shuttle relay today (16th Nov) at the Oswestry Campus. The students came up with the idea of running a marathon between them during their lunch break whilst raising money for the fantastic charity. A total of 26.2 miles was covered between the students.

Liam McGrath Curriculum Area Leader for Sport explained, ‘The students completed 26.2 miles between them in just 34 minutes! When students weren’t running they were collecting donations from staff, students and visitors at the College for this very worthwhile cause.’

Danielle Hughes (photographed) commented, ‘I thought the marathon relay was really good, but tiring! I personally completed 105 laps of the 20 metre course. Children in Need is such a great cause, I really enjoyed it.’

Liam added, ‘We haven’t finished fundraising yet though, the TNS Football Scholars will be taking part in a ‘Cross Bar Challenge’ at the Walford Campus on Friday lunch time. The event today has been great preparation for the students as they will be tackling Sport Relief next in March, which will be a much bigger event linked with local schools.’
