Hello and hope you’ve
had a great Easter, I’m like a hamster storing
food with all the chocolate that bloating my cheeks.
Sometimes you just can’t eat enough eggs in a
weekend!
Last week it was all about Blists
Hill Victorian Town at Ironbridge Gorge Museum for us.
We were there on Wednesday to highlight their need for
volunteers to come forward, how do you fancy getting
dressed up in Victorian clothing and being one of the
Victorian Town’s many characters? You could be
a worker at the bakers, the printers, in the school?
You get such satisfaction too from showing all the kids
(and big kids!) who visit how life was back then in
the olden days. There’s so much to do and if you
wanna be a part of it all the details are on our website.
Me and Vick were dressed up in
our Victorian best too. I got the raw deal though –
Vicky looked like Kate Winslet in Titanic and I looked
like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Um-diddle-liddle-liddle-um-diddle-li
etc etc. Our travel news man on our show Tom said I
actually looked like working class Northerner –
which I am so that makes sense but I think he was referring
to my flat cap. I can assure you that I did not at any
point have a ferret down my trousers, I’m not
that Northern. We did however keep attracting attention
and were frequently stopped by various groups of Japanese
tourists who wanted photos with us. We felt like Brad
and Angelina at one point. Far more attractive though,
obviously.

Back
in 2010 though and there’s more exciting
news about the Beacon Summer Sessions at The Quarry
in Shrewsbury. This is our 80s concert happening
on Friday July 9th and it’s gonna be great.
Already on the line-up are Tony Hadley of Spandau
Ballet, ABC, Go West and Mr. Rick Astley! And
we’ve now added two more names. Firstly,
80s sensation Howard Jones of ‘What is Lur-ur-ur-ur-ur-ur-ur-urve’
fame. Secondly, soul superstar Mica Paris of ‘My
One Temptation’ fame. Two brilliant singers
and I can’t wait to see what they can do.
This week on the show you
can win tickets to Osfest – join us from
6!
