tony
benn comes to shropshire Sam Norman, (Barry Norman's
daughter) will be interviewing Tony Benn on stage at
Church Stretton School on Tuesday 27th July at 7.30pm,
as part of what organisers promise ‘will be an
evening to remember’.
Sam Norman will interview and chat to Tony Benn before
the audience have the opportunity to speak to him and
ask questions. There will also be a Book Signing in
the interval and after the event.
Tony Benn replaces Miss Ann Widdecombe, who has undergone
emergency eye surgery and has been advised by her doctor
that she is unable to carry out any engagements for
at least a month while she convalesces.
Roger Stokes, Charman of the Festival said: “We
are delighted to welcome Tony Benn, a legendary figure
in politics. The veteran Labour politician Tony Benn
will be talking about his life in politics and what
he thinks about the changes in the Labour party.
Expect an evening of frank responses and entertaining
political anecdotes. A few tickets remain for what promises
to be an evening to remember, but anyone who has bought
a ticket to the event and would like to obtain a refund,
they may please contact Gloria Carter 01694 724106.”
