TV presenter Nick Knowles has announced that he is now the co-owner of a Shrewsbury vegan and vegetarian Bistro. shropshirelive.com caught up with him and owner Becky Porter to find out more.
Celebrity spotting in Shropshire is always a fun game to play and it is surprising to hear who people have apparently seen around the county! From Jo Brand wondering around a local supermarket, Griff Rhys Jones having a coffee in Oswestry and the elusive Gary Barlow spotted in the Dingle! So when TV presenter Nick Knowles arrived in Ludlow to film an episode for the new series of DIY SOS, we thought his visit here would be brief! So it came as a bit of a surprise when it was announced that Nick had become the co-owner of a Shrewsbury vegan and vegetarian Bistro.
shropshirelive.com went along to O’Joy Bistro on Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury to chat to Nick and restaurant owner Becky Porter to get the full story.
Nick explains in the interview of how he discovered the vegan and vegetarian restaurant and coffee house, Shrewsbury’s only quadruple certified-coffee establishment (organic, fairtrade, biodynamic and rainforest alliance) and why it fitted in with his views and change of lifestyle.
He also talks about how his health has improved since trying a vegan lifestyle and alternative health therapies, along with how he copes with the stress that comes with working in television.
For Becky, it was about eating plant-based foods and using alternative therapies for her wellbeing after suffering from a period of depression.
