Time is running out for fun loving residents to plunge down a giant water slide at a Shrewsbury landmark in aid of local charity.
Family’s golfing success at Llanymynech
The Weetman family of Knockin, near Oswestry celebrated a splendid golfing year with a fine array of awards following prizegiving events at Llanymynech Golf Club.
Anne Weetman, who works as a bank clerk in Welshpool, won both Gross & Net Ladies Club Championships, the Lady Captain’s Day Trophy, the Ladies Order of Merit and the All Winners Salver.
Tom Weetman, aged 14, was voted Junior Player of the Year for handicaps 28 to 12 and also won the Junior 9-Hole League.
Keeping it in the family, Libby Weetman, aged 11, won the Griffiths Putting Cup, Most Improved Junior Girl and the Junior 7-Hole League.
Anne commented: “It has been an absolutely fantastic year for us as a golfing family and thanks must go to the instruction and support provided, especially for the juniors, by everybody at the club.”
Amongst the other club trophy winners were James Hampson, who won the Club Championship, Tom King who won the Men’s Scratch Knockout and Jim Larby, who won the Senior’s Winter Knockout.
