The Shropshire Scale Model Show is set to take place at RAF Museum Cosford on Sunday 12 April.
Sainsbury’s Telford search for local carol singing groups
Telford locals have the exclusive opportunity to take part in a carol singing event at Sainsbury’s Telford – with the option to raise funds for local charities.
For the first time, local carol singing groups will form part of a nationwide carol singing event held in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.
Local groups and residents in Telford have the exclusive opportunity to take part in Sing While You Shop – a carol singing event hosted at Sainsbury’s Telford on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December.
They are encouraging local residents to take part, including professional choirs, singing families, friends and regional groups including schools, charities, community clubs and hospices and spread some festive cheer. By taking part, the carol singers will have the option to raise funds for the store’s local charity partner The Salvation Army Oakengates and the KIP Project Wellington – or a local charity of their choice.
The weekend event will see all in-store music switched off for two days to make way for eight carol singing groups who will provide entertainment to Sainsbury’s Telford customers as they shop, singing a selection of Christmas classics from ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Little Donkey’ to light hearted favourites such as ‘Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer’.
The activity is part of a nationwide carol singing charity drive by the retailer. Sing While You Shop will also help the retailer move a step closer towards its commitment to donate over £400 million to charitable causes by 2020 as part of Sainsbury’s 20×20 community investment plan.
Sainsbury’s Telford Store Manager Rob Hillman said:
“We’re encouraging local residents and groups to get involved. Everyone from the area is welcome to apply and we’re delighted to offer our customers the chance to help us spread the festivities in-store with some traditional Christmas classics”.
Local residents and groups will be booked on a first come, first serve basis. Sainsbury’s Telford customers who would like to find out further details or would like to take part should contact Jane Piper, PR Ambassador on 01952 299702 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
One of Britain’s most iconic aircraft will be roaring over Shropshire on Sunday 14 June, in an appearance dedicated to Sir Jack Hayward.
