Road reopens after fatal lorry crash near Oswestry

A lorry driver was killed this morning when his lorry left the road near the Mile End Roundabout in Oswestry

Police alerted West Midlands Ambulance Service at around 5am when a lorry was discovered down an embankment between the Mile End roundabout and the B5009.

When the ambulance crew arrived the male driver was confirmed dead at the scene, his family have been informed.

The road was closed in both directions between the A483 and the B5009 near Oswestry while Emergency services, including Fire Appliances from Oswestry, Ellesmere and Wellington, attended.

The road has now reopened with no reported delays.
