Suspected Shrewsbury shoplifter charged

A 30-year-old Shrewsbury man was arrested at his home today on suspicion of stealing a television set from a local supermarket.

The man was taken into custody at Shrewsbury police station and subsequently charged with theft.

He will appear before the town’s magistrates on October 31 charged with stealing an LCD television worth £289 from Sainsbury’s store in Meole Brace on October 11.

He has been released on conditional police bail pending the court case.
